Intermediate Full Stack Engineer

Frontend Developer Auckland Full Time

Our Client: Is looking for a Junior or Intermediate Full Stack Engineer to join their dedicated team in pushing the boundaries of technology in the world of yacht racing and focusing on the goal of designing the fastest yacht to defend the 38th America's Cup.

The successful candidate will take charge of new and existing web-based tools utilised daily by members in the sailing and design teams. Located in the same office as the end users facilitates the collection of feedback unlike typical consumer based tools.

This software includes displaying the data shown live on the yacht, live data monitoring and settings adjustments by engineers, historical data review, and more.

Requirements

  • 1-3 Years of Commercial Experience as a Software Engineer

  • Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript for Frontend and Backend related work.

  • Experience with React and Redux (or similar front end technologies), including real-world projects.

  • Strong familiarity with database management systems and data structures.

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or relevant work experience.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges as they arise.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance existing, and develop new, high-quality front-end applications to support live and historical data monitoring and analysis.

  • Work closely with engineers and sailors to identify software needs and develop effective solutions.

  • Optimise and maintain the software architecture for performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Write clean, efficient and maintainable code.

  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of software components.

  • Document software designs and changes for future reference.
